Method 1: Check by SMS (works on any phone)
This is the easiest way and works even on a basic phone with no internet.
- Open the Messages app on your phone.
- Type your 13-digit CNIC number without dashes (for example: 5440012345678).
- Send it to 8171.
- Wait a short while. You will receive a reply telling you your eligibility and payment details.
Method 2: Check on the official web portal
If you have internet, you can check on the BISP website:
- Open 8171.bisp.gov.pk in your browser.
- Type your CNIC number in the box.
- Enter the security code (captcha) shown on the screen.
