Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has announced that the Quaid-e-Azam Library in Quetta will be turned into a modern, model library, directing authorities to upgrade the institution within three months.
The announcement came after the chief minister took notice of an appeal by students of the library and invited them to the Chief Minister Secretariat, where he held a detailed meeting with them. He listened to their problems, suggestions and needs, and made several decisions on the spot, issuing directions to the relevant authorities for immediate implementation.
Bugti directed that a modern digital lab be established at the library and that quality books of the latest editions across various fields be provided. He also ordered that the library's cooling system and solar system be made functional immediately, so that students have a better educational and study environment.
He said the institution would be aligned with modern requirements within the next three months.
The chief minister said the Balochistan government regarded young people as the focus of its development policies, and that listening directly to their views, suggestions and problems was the government's responsibility. He said trust and links between the youth and the state would be further strengthened to help build a confident, capable and developed society.
Bugti described access to education, research, study and modern knowledge as a basic right of young people, adding that the government was taking practical steps to provide it. He reiterated a commitment to equipping educational institutions and libraries across Balochistan with modern facilities, so that young people have equal opportunities to develop and express their abilities.
During the meeting, students appreciated the chief minister's immediate response to their problems, his announcements for the improvement of the Quaid-e-Azam Library, and his direct dialogue with young people, describing the initiative as a practical reflection of an education-friendly and youth-friendly vision.
