ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House on Monday, marking the conclusion of his diplomatic tenure in Islamabad.



The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Ambassador Kistafin's contribution to strengthening the historic ties between Pakistan and Kazakhstan during his time in office. He particularly commended the Ambassador's role in facilitating President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's visit to Pakistan in February 2026 ; a visit that elevated bilateral relations to the level of a Strategic Partnership.

The Prime Minister conveyed his regards to President Tokayev and reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to deepening cooperation with Kazakhstan across regional connectivity, trade, energy, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

In his remarks, Ambassador Kistafin thanked the Prime Minister for the support extended to him throughout his posting and expressed confidence that Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations would continue to grow under the strategic partnership framework established this year.

The Prime Minister wished the outgoing envoy success in his future assignments.
