Security personnel successfully defused a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) discovered in the Nazarabad area of Tump, preventing a potentially serious security incident, police officials said.

According to police sources, the explosive device was planted along a roadside and was detected following information received by local authorities. A Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately dispatched to the scene, where experts safely neutralized the device without incident.

Police officials said the recovered IED weighed approximately 20 kilograms, indicating the potential for significant damage had it detonated.

Following the operation, security measures in the area were strengthened, and law enforcement personnel launched an investigation to determine who planted the device and the intended target.

No casualties or property damage were reported, as the explosive was successfully defused before it could cause harm.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious objects or activities to law enforcement agencies.
