A roadside explosion targeted a road construction site on the under-construction Duki, Chamalang Road near Yaroshahr Cross on Sunday, damaging heavy machinery but causing no casualties, according to police.
Police said the blast struck a motor grader (blade machine) engaged in construction work on the project. The machine sustained significant damage, while the driver escaped unharmed.
According to preliminary findings, the explosive device had been concealed beneath gravel and concrete material at the construction site before detonating.
Following the incident, police and other relevant law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
Officials said forensic teams are collecting evidence from the scene to determine the nature of the explosion and identify those responsible.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, and authorities said further details would be released as the investigation progresses.
The explosion has raised fresh security concerns surrounding infrastructure development projects in Balochistan, where construction activities have occasionally been targeted in the past.
