Reports emerging from Balochistan on Thursday indicated a series of coordinated militant incidents in Chagai and Washuk districts, with claims that a large number of armed men entered Chagai town, targeted government installations, and temporarily took control of several public facilities. Authorities had not officially confirmed these claims at the time of publication.

According to local sources, tens of armed individuals entered Chagai town, where they reportedly took control of several government offices, banks, police stations, and Levies posts. The attackers allegedly blocked key entry and exit routes to the town, disrupting traffic and carrying out snap checks at multiple locations.

Sources further claimed that after storming police stations and Levies posts, the armed men seized government weapons and equipment before setting several public buildings on fire. A police station was reportedly torched, with official records, government vehicles, and other property destroyed in the blaze.

Local reports also suggested that an ambulance was taken by the attackers during the operation. Residents described an atmosphere of fear as armed men were reportedly seen moving through different parts of the town.

Meanwhile, in Washuk district's Sechi area, reports indicated that a convoy of Pakistani security forces came under attack. According to preliminary information, an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated as a convoy consisting of three vehicles passed through the area, followed by gunfire from unidentified armed assailants.

Initial reports suggested that the attack resulted in casualties, although the exact number of those killed or injured could not be independently verified.

As of filing this report, neither the provincial government nor Pakistan's military had issued an official statement confirming the reported incidents or providing casualty figures. Independent verification of several claims circulating from the affected areas also remained unavailable.

The reported attacks come amid a broader rise in militant violence across Balochistan in recent days, raising fresh concerns about the province's security situation.

Balochistan Dispatch will continue to monitor developments and update this report as official information becomes available.
