Usta Muhammad: A man and a woman who were shot dead by unidentified gunmen near the Khokhar Laharo area of Usta Muhammad were laid to rest by local authorities after no family members came forward to claim their bodies.

According to police, the victims, identified as Muhammad Ramzan and Sameena, were killed in a shooting incident in the Ghareebabad area within the jurisdiction of Usta Muhammad City Police Station. Their bodies were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Usta Muhammad for legal formalities and post-mortem examination.

Hospital and administrative officials said the bodies remained at the hospital while authorities waited for relatives to claim them. However, when no family members came forward, the deceased were buried in a local graveyard.

Local sources told Balochistan Dispatch that the victims were originally from Nushki and belonged to the Pirkani tribe. Some sources alleged that the couple had entered into a love marriage or court marriage, though no official confirmation of these claims was immediately available.

Police said an investigation into the killings is underway and that authorities are examining different possible motives. No arrests had been announced at the time of publication.

The incident has raised concerns among local residents, while rights advocates have called for a transparent investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the killings and bring those responsible to justice.
