A man and a woman were allegedly killed in a suspected honour killing incident, locally referred to as a karo-kari case, in the B Loti area of Dera Bugti district on Sunday morning, according to local sources.
Residents said both victims were shot dead, allegedly over accusations related to "honour." The identities of the deceased have not yet been officially released.
As of the filing of this report, neither the Dera Bugti police nor any district administration official has issued a statement regarding the incident. No First Information Report (FIR) or official confirmation has been made public.
The circumstances surrounding the killings remain unclear, and it is not immediately known whether any suspects have been arrested or an investigation has been launched.
Balochistan has witnessed recurring incidents of so-called honour killings, despite such acts being criminal offences under Pakistani law. Human rights organisations have repeatedly called for prompt investigations and accountability in such cases.
