A senior leader of the National Party (NP) Mir Tahir Bizenjo said that Balochistan cannot be treated as separate from regional and international affairs, pointing to the province's long coastal border with Iran and the direct impact that developments there have on Balochistan.

leader said Balochistan's rare mineral wealth and its strategically vital coastline home to the Gwadar port have placed the province at the center of what he described as a new "Great Game" being played out among global and regional powers.

He said the ongoing rivalry and repositioning among major powers including China, Iran, and Russia for influence in the new global order carries direct consequences for Balochistan, given its geographic and economic significance. He added that the province's mineral resources and coastal access make it a key stake in this competition, whether or not its people are treated as active participants in the decisions being made.
