The Metropolitan Corporation Quetta (MCQ) has renamed the city's GPO Chowk as "Shaheed Raziq Bugti Chowk," in what it described as acknowledgment of Shaheed Raziq Bugti's valuable services for the people of Balochistan.

The decision was issued through a formal notification (No. 1170/Admin:/MCQ/2025), dated July 6, 2025, and signed by the Chief Metropolitan Officer, Metropolitan Corporation Quetta. The notification states that the renaming was carried out with the prior approval of the competent authority and takes effect immediately.

Copies of the notification were forwarded to several government departments and public-sector entities, including the Secretary of the Government of Balochistan's Local Government and Rural Development Department, the Post Master General Balochistan, the CEO of QESCO, the General Manager of PTCL, the General Manager of Sui Southern Gas Company, the Director General of the Balochistan Public Relations Department, the Director General of Local Government Balochistan, the Chief Engineer of Metropolitan Corporation Quetta, and the Private Secretary to the Administrator of Metropolitan Corporation Quetta.

The renaming makes Shaheed Raziq Bugti Chowk the new official designation for the landmark previously known as GPO Chowk, one of Quetta's central intersections.
