The death toll from the powerful twin earthquakes that struck CARACAS earlier this week has climbed to 1,430, as international rescue teams continue searching for survivors and humanitarian assistance reaches the disaster-hit country.
Authorities said hundreds of foreign rescue personnel have arrived in Venezuela, while additional international aid flights are expected in the coming days. Search-and-rescue operations are focused on heavily affected areas, particularly La Guaira and the capital, Caracas, where numerous residential buildings collapsed or suffered severe damage.
Rescue workers, assisted by local volunteers, are racing against time to locate survivors trapped beneath the rubble. Officials have also deployed thousands of military and police personnel to support relief operations, maintain security, and facilitate emergency response efforts.
Emergency services continue to warn that millions of people remain in urgent need of food, clean water, medical care, and sanitation as humanitarian agencies expand relief operations across the affected regions.
Authorities have restricted access to some disaster-hit areas to allow emergency vehicles and rescue teams to operate without disruption, while investigations into the full extent of the devastation remain ongoing.
