At least four people were killed and several others injured in a shooting incident in Killi Babri, located in the Hanna Urak area near Quetta, according to local sources. Reports have also suggested that several individuals remain missing, although officials have not independently confirmed those claims.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred during an exchange of gunfire allegedly involving members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and local tribesmen. Tensions remain high in the area, with intermittent reports of gunfire continuing.

Local sources identified three of the deceased as Muhammad Ashraf, son of Abdul Ghaffar; Naqeeb Khan, son of Fateh Muhammad; and Younis Khan, son of Muhammad Hassan. The identity of the fourth victim has not yet been officially released. Several injured individuals were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The exact number of casualties remains unclear, as different sources have reported varying figures. Claims circulating on social media regarding additional deaths, injuries, or missing persons have not been independently verified.

Following the incident, relatives of the victims and local residents staged a protest, blocking roads near Quetta Cantonment and B.A. Mall Road. Demonstrators demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible and called for stronger security measures in the area.

Some protesters alleged that existing security checkpoints had failed to prevent the attackers from entering the area. There has been no immediate official response from the security agencies regarding those allegations.

Meanwhile, the Government of Balochistan has announced the establishment of a joint security checkpoint staffed by the Balochistan Police and the Frontier Corps (FC) in Killi Babri, Hanna Urak.

The provincial Home Department has directed both agencies to submit a joint report outlining the proposed location, personnel requirements, and logistical resources needed for the new checkpoint.

Officials said the measure aims to strengthen law and order, improve rapid response capabilities, and enhance coordination between security forces operating in the area.

Authorities have not yet issued a comprehensive official statement detailing the circumstances surrounding the incident. Security forces remain deployed in the area, and search operations are reportedly ongoing.

Balochistan Dispatch will continue to monitor developments and update this report as more verified information becomes available.
