Khuzdar resident Asma Baloch (also referred to as Asma Jatak Baloch), who says she was abducted from Khuzdar Police Lines on February 5, 2024, has appealed to the government, state institutions, and the public for justice, alleging that her family continues to face threats and that her father, Inayatullah Baloch, was killed just hours after she issued a statement regarding her security.

It is pertinent to note that following her alleged abduction, protests, shutter-down strikes, and rallies were held in Khuzdar, Zehri, Hub, and other parts of Balochistan. Demonstrators demanded her recovery and action against those responsible. Police later confirmed that Asma Baloch had been recovered, while the Balochistan government announced an investigation into the incident and pledged action against the alleged abductors. However, it remains publicly unclear how many arrests, if any, were made afterward or what stage the case has reached.

In her statement, Asma Baloch alleged that Zahoor Jamalzai was involved in her alleged abduction in February 2024. She urged the relevant authorities to conduct an impartial, transparent, and prompt investigation so that the facts can be established and those responsible held accountable under the law.

She further alleged that during her abduction, she was forced to record videos that are now circulating on social media, causing serious damage to her dignity and mental well-being. According to Asma, her family continues to receive threats and face various allegations. She appealed to the authorities to provide legal protection to her family and carry out a comprehensive investigation into all aspects of the case.

Asma Baloch specifically appealed to Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri and Naimatullah Khan Zehri to take notice of the matter and play a role in ensuring justice. She also called upon the public, media, and human rights organizations to responsibly convey her appeal to the relevant institutions so that a transparent investigation can take place.

In a separate video statement, Asma Baloch alleged that Zahoor Jamalzai continues to threaten her. She further claimed that a group allegedly led by him, which she associated with Sanaullah Zehri, has threatened to kill her father and brothers. According to her, despite the registration of a case in 2024, no effective action has been taken against the alleged abductors, who remain at large. She also alleged that the group has threatened to abduct her again.

Asma Baloch stated that if the provincial government and local authorities fail to ensure justice and take firm action against those accused, she would feel compelled to take her own life. She said responsibility for such an outcome would rest with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and former Balochistan Chief Minister and current Member of the Provincial Assembly, Sanaullah Zehri.

Asma Baloch was reported to have been abducted by an armed group from Khuzdar Police Lines on February 5, 2024, an incident that sparked protests and rallies across Balochistan. Following the demonstrations, police recovered her, while the Balochistan government announced that action would be taken against the alleged abductors. However, The Balochistan Dispatch has not been able to independently verify whether any arrests were subsequently made.
