Balochistan Imposes Three-Day Curfew in Noshki After Attack on FC Post

Published July 29, 2026

The Government of Balochistan has imposed a curfew across District Noshki for three days under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, following an attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) post and what officials described as a highly volatile security situation in the district.

According to a notification issued by the Home Department (Judicial Section-II) on July 28, the curfew took effect at 8:00 pm on July 28 and will remain in force until 8:00 pm on July 31, 2026.

The notification stated that the District Intelligence Coordination Committee (DICC), Noshki, had reported that "terrorists" carried out an attack on an FC post on the Western Bypass in Noshki on July 28, and that the subsequent security operation launched by law enforcement agencies pointed to a highly volatile security situation.

The Home Department said the law and order situation in the district had deteriorated considerably due to the increasing frequency of attacks on law enforcement agencies, sensitive government installations and the National Highway (N-40), posing a serious threat to public safety, human lives, public property and the uninterrupted movement of passengers and goods.

It added that credible intelligence reports indicated an enhanced threat perception during the coming month of August, with the likelihood of further attacks targeting law enforcement agencies, government installations and other vulnerable locations.

Under the order, no person is permitted to leave their residence or move within the limits of District Noshki except with the prior permission of the competent authority or in accordance with directions issued by the district administration. All public movement, gatherings, processions and unnecessary travel are prohibited during the curfew period.

The notification authorised the Deputy Commissioner, Noshki, in consultation with law enforcement agencies, to grant exemptions to government officials performing essential duties, as well as to emergency medical services, rescue services, utility service providers and others considered necessary in the public interest.

All law enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the order. Anyone found violating it will be liable to legal proceedings under the relevant provisions of law.

The notification was issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat.
