Hub, Balochistan – Commissioner Lasbela Division, Saira Atta, visited the 50-bed Ghulam Qadir Teaching Hospital in Hub on Wednesday and took strict notice of electricity load-shedding, particularly during ongoing surgical operations in the operation theater.
During her briefing with the Medical Superintendent (MS), the Commissioner was informed that over 400 emergency surgeries are performed monthly at the hospital. However, frequent power disruptions have severely impacted the dialysis unit, incubators, and routine medical procedures.
Expressing grave concern, Commissioner Atta stated that human life is invaluable, and the persistent failure of K-Electric’s technical team to resolve even minor daily faults is unacceptable. She noted that despite the utility recovering significant revenue from the local industrial zone, its performance remains negligent.
She has directed the Deputy Commissioner to immediately write a letter to higher authorities against the K-Electric General Manager, citing the company’s irresponsible attitude and lack of interest in restoring stable power supply to the healthcare facility.
