KHARAN :Unidentified armed men used heavy machinery to destroy a major portion of a bridge on the Kharan-Karachi highway near Sotkagan in Kharan district on Thursday, completely suspending all traffic on the vital route.

According to initial reports, the assailants operated heavy equipment to uproot and demolish a large section of the structure, rendering it impassable. The attack comes amid a surge in militant activities across Balochistan, with several bridges targeted over the past months using explosives.

The closure has severed the main commercial and supply link connecting Kharan to Karachi and Quetta, paralyzing traffic flow and causing severe hardships for travelers.
