QUETTA: A young woman, Asma, a resident of Qambrani Road, has publicly accused her cousins of subjecting her to severe physical torture and attempting to abduct her for sexual assault after she refused a marriage proposal.
Speaking at a press conference alongside her sister on Thursday, Asma detailed the harrowing events that began on the night of August 13. She stated that suspects including Khuda Bakhsh, Siraj, Rafiq, and other cousins entered her home and attacked her.
Rejection Leads to Violence
Asma alleged that the primary suspect, Khuda Bakhsh, brutally tortured and injured her after she declined his marriage proposal. She further claimed that when Khuda Bakhsh attempted to forcibly marry her, the cleric (Molvi) refused to perform the ceremony.
Abduction Attempt Thwarted
Following the failed marriage attempt, Asma stated the accused tried to bind her and kidnap her to commit sexual assault. "They were taking me away in a vehicle by force, but police at a checkpoint intercepted and arrested them," she told reporters.
Robbery and Death Threats
In a shocking claim, she also accused the suspects of taking her educational documents and Rs. 6.5 million in cash. Asma, who stated she is currently living in hiding due to fears for her life, said the accused are still looking for her.
Appeal to CM Bugti
"I have been humiliated and cannot even walk due to the severe torture. My only crime was refusing the marriage," Asma said, emotionally appealing to Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti for justice. "You deliver justice to everyone. Please help me."
She requested the Chief Minister to intervene and ensure her safety and legal redress.
