Balochistan Minister Orders Accelerated Work on Mega Projects, Hails Transparency in Fund Utilization
QUETTA – Provincial Minister for Communications and Construction Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa has directed authorities to expedite work on all ongoing development projects, emphasizing that timely completion and quality standards remain non-negotiable for the government.
Chairing a performance review meeting at the department, Khosa said modernizing Balochistan's infrastructure is among the provincial government's top priorities, with the Communications and Construction department playing a pivotal role in the province's progress and prosperity.
Secretary Communications and Construction Babar Khan briefed the session on departmental performance, ongoing projects, and administrative matters, noting that regular progress reviews are being conducted to address any technical or administrative bottlenecks promptly. He highlighted that the recent induction of 192 sub-engineers through the Balochistan Public Service Commission has significantly enhanced the department's capacity and efficiency.
The minister praised the effective and transparent utilization of development funds during the previous fiscal year, acknowledging the performance of concerned officers. He directed all chief engineers to conduct regular visits to their respective zones, submit periodic inspection reports, and ensure close monitoring of projects despite challenges.
Khosa stressed that mega development projects across the province must be completed within stipulated timelines, warning that no compromise on construction quality would be tolerated. He reiterated that providing modern, high-quality, and sustainable facilities—whether roads or government buildings—remains the department's fundamental responsibility, and must be upheld with honesty, transparency, and professionalism.
