In Quetta, a woman was shot dead and her seven-year-old son wounded at a house in a private housing scheme on Airport Road, according to police.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Airport police station, Maqsood Gujjar, said the woman, identified as Warda Daud, was killed in the firing, while her seven-year-old son was injured. Both were shifted to the Civil Hospital. Police detained the woman's husband on suspicion of her murder and transferred the case to the Serious Crime Unit for investigation.
The victim's sister said Warda Daud was a divorcee with a seven-year-old son and had entered a second marriage with a man she named as Farhan Magsi. She appealed to Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti for the strictest punishment under the law for her sister's killer, and for justice for the family.
