Quetta : Senior voices from Balochistan have reacted strongly to the arrest and reported life imprisonment of human rights activist Dr. Mahrang Baloch, calling for dialogue, constitutional engagement, and a review of prevailing political approaches.
Senior politician Mir Tahir Bizenjo said that human society does not become meaningful or beautiful on its own, but is shaped by creative thinking, critical analysis, and systems based on justice and fairness.
He added that the current situation and instability in the region are the result of long-standing wrong policies, repeated mistakes, and negative approaches over the past decades. According to him, this has led to continued political and social instability, and the trend is still ongoing.
Senior Author Dr. Shah Muhammad Marri said that political leadership in Balochistan stands with the concerns being raised in connection with Dr. Mahrang Baloch’s case. He stated that women in society, including those engaged in non-political community work, are inspired by figures like Dr. Mahrang Baloch, and that such influence reflects growing awareness among women in Balochistan.
He further said that Dr. Mahrang Baloch should not be considered a threat to the country, and emphasized that if there are disagreements, they should be resolved through dialogue within the framework of the Constitution.
He also noted that he has observed women professionals, including doctors, expressing admiration for Dr. Mahrang Baloch’s courage and activism.
The statements from both Public figures highlight calls for constitutional dialogue and political engagement rather than confrontation. They emphasized that unresolved political issues require dialogue and policy correction to avoid further instability.
