Rubina Baloch, a university student and member of the Baloch Students Council (BSC) Islamabad, has returned home after 25 days of enforced disappearance ; her recovery bringing relief to her family and to the Baloch students who had campaigned for her release.

Rubina, a fourth-semester BS Mass Communication student at the International Islamic University Islamabad, went missing in the federal capital on 2 July. The BSC Islamabad, of which she is an active member, had reported her disappearance at the time and repeatedly pressed the authorities to disclose her whereabouts and ensure her safe return.

In a statement welcoming her recovery, her supporters described it as a moment of relief for her family, the wider Baloch community and, in particular, for Baloch students in Islamabad, Punjab and Peshawar. Her return, they said, showed the value of sustained, collective advocacy — and they framed it less as an end than as a reminder of how many others are still missing.

The statement renewed the demand that every other disappeared Baloch student and citizen be brought home alive, and called for an end to what it described as an unlawful practice that has, for years, held people in detention beyond the reach of any court. It urged that those responsible be held to account and that the practice be stopped outright.
