Farmers in Gresha, a sub-tehsil of Khuzdar district, have appealed to the federal and provincial governments for urgent assistance after heavy rains and a severe hailstorm caused widespread damage to crops and agricultural infrastructure.
According to a press release issued by affected residents, standing crops, including cotton, onions, watermelons, chilies, and other seasonal produce, suffered extensive damage during the recent extreme weather. In addition, several farmers reported that their solar power systems were damaged, resulting in substantial financial losses.
The affected farmers have called on the Federal and Provincial governments to conduct an immediate survey of the affected areas to assess the extent of the damage.
They urged the authorities to provide financial assistance and compensation in accordance with government policy, enabling farmers to recover their losses and resume agricultural activities.
The farmers expressed hope that the relevant authorities would take prompt and effective measures to support affected communities and protect the livelihoods of local growers.
