Multiple districts of Balochistan saw violence on Wednesday, as security forces came under attack in Kachhi, military operations continued in Kech, and three men were shot dead in Turbat.

The banned United Baloch Army (UBA) claimed responsibility for a bomb attack on a security forces convoy in Kachhi district. In a statement, the group said it targeted one vehicle in a seven vehicle army convoy with a remote controlled explosive device at around 8:30 am in Chighardi, an area between Dhadar the main town of Kachhi and Sanni. The convoy was said to be on its way to a checkpoint.

The group claimed that eight security personnel were killed and two others seriously injured, and that its fighters withdrew after a brief exchange of fire. The claims could not be independently verified.

Since about 7:00am, two separate convoys of security forces were reported to have come under attack in the district, with clashes said to be continuing. Full details had not emerged at the time of reporting. Earlier, a security forces vehicle was reportedly hit in an explosion in the Sanni area, where clashes between security forces and armed men were said to be ongoing.

Separately, the military was reported to have carried out operations since morning in several parts of Kech district. According to reports, the operation began early in the day in the Jalgi area of Zamuran and nearby localities, with ground troops supported from the air.

Sources said gunship helicopters shelled multiple locations, while quadcopter drones dropped explosive munitions. No casualties or damage had been confirmed. A drone strike was also reported in Balida, though officials had not released any details.

In Turbat, three men were killed on Wednesday when unidentified armed men on motorcycles opened fire in the Darmakol Pidrak area. Police confirmed the incident and identified the victims as Shah Baig, son of Sardar Aziz; Amanullah, son of Sher Muhammad; and Altaf Hussain, son of Murad. All three died of gunshot wounds.

The motive behind the attack was not known, and no individual or group claimed responsibility.
