Four police officers were injured after a roadside bomb exploded near a police vehicle in the Dasht area of Balochistan's Mastung district on Saturday, officials said.
According to police, the explosion occurred at Pir Wali on the Mian Ghundi Link Road while the vehicle was transporting prisoners from Dasht Court to Mastung Jail. The blast partially damaged the police vehicle.
Station House Officer (SHO) Dasht, Akhtar Muhammad, said the explosive device detonated as the vehicle passed through the area. He confirmed that four police personnel sustained minor injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital, where they received first aid. Their condition is reported to be stable and out of danger.
Following the incident, police and other security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Bomb disposal personnel and investigators also reached the site to collect evidence and determine the nature of the explosive device.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the bombing so far.
