Pakistan's security forces said they killed eight suspected separatist militants during two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Kharan and Mastung districts of Balochistan, according to a statement issued by the military's media wing on Saturday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation was carried out in Kharan after security forces received intelligence regarding the movement of armed members of a banned separatist organization. During the operation, three suspected militants were killed, while several others were reportedly injured.

In a separate intelligence-based operation in Mastung, security forces targeted what ISPR described as a militant hideout. Following an exchange of fire, five suspected members of the banned separatist group were killed, including an individual whom the military identified as a suspected suicide bomber.

The military said security personnel recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and motorcycles from the sites of the operations.

ISPR added that a clearance operation remains underway in the surrounding areas to locate any remaining members of the group and secure the area.

The military reiterated its commitment to continuing operations against armed groups involved in violence and maintaining security across the country.
