The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) Quetta has forecast very hot and mostly dry weather across most parts of Balochistan over the next 48 to 72 hours, while rain-wind and thunderstorms are expected in several districts.
According to the RMC, the highest temperature on Friday was recorded in Nokkundi at 45.5°C, followed by Dalbandin at 44.0°C. Other major temperatures included Panjgur and Uthal at 39.0°C, Quetta at 38.0°C, Samungli at 37.5°C, Khuzdar at 36.5°C, Barkhan and Quetta RMC at 36.0°C, Sariab at 35.5°C, Zhob at 34.5°C, Pasni at 34.0°C, Jiwani at 33.5°C, Ormara at 33.0°C, Kalat at 33.0°C, and Gwadar at 32.5°C.
The Met Office has predicted rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms in Khuzdar, Barkhan, Rakhni, Panjgur, Zhob, Sherani, Musakhel, Ziarat, Kohlu, Duki, Harnai, and Loralai during the forecast period.
Light rain or drizzle with strong winds is also expected in Killa Saifullah, Kech, Awaran, Quetta, and Mastung. Meanwhile, dust storms are likely to affect northwestern parts of the province, while partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected along the coastal belt.
The Regional Meteorological Center has advised district administrations to remain vigilant and implement precautionary measures, particularly in vulnerable areas, to reduce the risks associated with thunderstorms, strong winds, and dust storms. Residents have also been urged to exercise caution, especially while traveling or working outdoors during adverse weather conditions.
