QUETTA: Human rights activist Sammi Deen Baloch has claimed that she has been subjected to harassment and threats of arrest over the past month, saying she remains committed to demanding justice for her father, who has been missing for the past 17 years.
In a video message shared on social media, Sammi said she had intended to release the statement on the 17th anniversary of her father's enforced disappearance but decided to publish it a day earlier due to what she described as increasing pressure and intimidation.
According to Sammi, security force vehicles arrived outside her residence on the previous night, where personnel allegedly gathered information about her and attempted to intimidate her.
She said that since her father's enforced disappearance 17 years ago, she and her family have endured continuous hardships, pressure, and harassment while seeking his return.
Sammi also recalled that she had previously been arrested and imprisoned but said those experiences had not weakened her resolve. She maintained that her struggle has always been focused on securing the recovery of her father and justice for all victims of enforced disappearances.
"I have always raised my voice against injustice," she said, adding that even if she is arrested again, she will continue to speak out from behind prison bars for her father and other forcibly disappeared persons.
She called for the immediate recovery of her father and urged authorities to ensure justice for the families of all missing persons.
The authorities have not publicly responded to Sammi Deen Baloch's allegations at the time of publication.
