The militant group identifying itself as Islamic State Pakistan Province (ISPP) has claimed responsibility for the killing of two local Christian cricketers who were shot dead by unidentified armed assailants at Shamsabad Cross Cricket Ground in Balochistan's Mastung district.

The attack took place while the victims were present at the cricket ground, where gunmen opened fire before fleeing the scene. The two players, both members of the local Christian community, died from their injuries.

Following the attack, ISPP released a statement claiming responsibility for the killings. Pakistani authorities have not yet independently verified the authenticity of the group's claim.
