Iran's Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived in Islamabad on Monday along with a high-level delegation for an official visit to Pakistan.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi welcomed his Iranian counterpart at the airport, while Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry presented Momeni with a bouquet on arrival. Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam was also present.

"Pakistan and Iran's relations are unparalleled," Momeni said, adding that he has always acknowledged the hospitality of the Pakistani government and people. Naqvi said the Iranian interior minister's visit would prove beneficial for both countries.

Momeni is expected to meet Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during his stay. He also held a meeting with Naqvi following his arrival.

"I am very happy to meet my brother Mohsin Naqvi again," the Iranian interior minister said.

The high-level delegation accompanying Momeni includes the Governor-General of Sistan-Balochistan, Iran's Deputy Interior Minister, the Deputy Minister for Urban Development and Transport, the head of the National Iranian Oil Company, a special representative of Iran's Minister of Agriculture, and other senior officials.

Welcoming his counterpart, Naqvi said: "I welcome my brother on his arrival in Pakistan. I hope Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni has brought good news. Your visit to Pakistan will promote bilateral relations. There is also hope for progress on the regional situation."
